The Musical Legacy of Samuel E. Goldfarb
The Musical Legacy of a Jewish American Pioneer
In June 2006, a special reunion concert was held at Temple De Hirsch Sinai that brought together former choir members who had performed under Samuel E. Goldfarb’s leadership, an idea inspired by his former junior choir director, Lucy Spring. The concert featured memorable performances by Althea Stroum and others, including a reenactment of a beloved duet skit by Lucy Spring and Kathie Barokas, celebrating Goldfarb’s lasting musical legacy. Accompanying the concert was a curated physical exhibit organized by Lisa Kranseler with assistance from Goldfarb’s grandson, David Goldfarb, featuring artifacts that honored his life and work.
