Bikur Cholim - Then & Now
Taking a Look Inside Seattle’s Oldest Jewish Congregations
Founded in 1891, Bikur Cholim–Machzikay Hadath (BCMH) is Seattle’s oldest Jewish congregation and the largest Ashkenazic Orthodox synagogue in the region. The congregation moved to Seward Park in the 1960s, merged with Machzikay Hadath in 1971, and celebrated the opening of its new synagogue the following year.
