Sydney Abrams
Sydney A. Abrams, born in Seattle in 1927, describes his childhood and reflects on his parents’ immigration from Lithuania and Ukraine, including his mother’s upbringing in the Republic. He discusses his family life and early experiences growing up in Seattle. Abrams also recounts his 1946 service aboard the USS Paducah, where he joined a Jewish volunteer crew attempting to bring Holocaust survivors from Europe to Palestine.
