Julian Agranoff
Julian Agranoff, born in Chicago, recounts his family’s emigration from Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, and describes his childhood in Southern California, where he performed in his father’s Hollywood Baby Orchestra. He shares memories of his family’s hotel and sanatorium, his education, bar mitzvah studies, and summers in Soap Lake with other Jewish families from Seattle. Agranoff also discusses his service in the Navy Air Corps and his later work with the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Grant County planning department.
