Brenner Brothers

Brenner Brothers Bakery is featured in the WSJHS exhibit Shalom! Open For Business. It was a landmark business in the Jewish community located on Yesler Way and Cherry Street, nicknamed Kosher Canyon.


Abe Brenner

Abe Brenner started his first bakery near King Street Station (ca. 1903) and later moved it to 1803 Yesler Way. Brenner's was later run for many years by Abe's sons (Itsey, Joe and Charlie) and daughter Yetta. The business moved to Bellevue around 1970.

The Brenner Brothers Bakery was originally opened by Abe Brenner. Here is his delivery truck from the 1920s.
