You can take an active role in the WSJHS by becoming a member of one of
these working committees:
The
Jewish Archives Committee collects archival materials, including oral
histories and photographs, written records, letters, and ephemera, under
the guidance of the University of Washington Libraries. Periodically,
this committee offers training in oral history.
The
Jewish Museum Committee is developing a collection of religious and
folk art, objects, artifacts and other materials relating to Jewish life
and culture in the state of Washington. This committee prepares temporary
displays of some of these materials in various locations in the state,
and they are investigating sites for a permanent museum.
The
Public Relations Committee prepares informational materials about
the WSJHS, like the information you are reading here, for the media or
for the membership.
The
Newsletter Committee issues a quarterly bulletin, NIZKOR, which announces
forthcoming events and includes photographs and articles of historic interest.
The
Publications Committee is currently preparing a major publication,
a history of the Jews of Washington State. See our Publications list for
completed projects.
The
Landmarks Committee identifies Jewish landmarks in the state and directs
small group tours, on foot or by bus, to visit some of these places.
Program
