In her second feature length documentary, CIRCUS KIDS, director Alexandra Lipsitz (Air Guitar Nation) follows the St. Louis Arches, a multi-ethnic group of elite youth circus performers from Missouri, as they travel to Israel to join the Galilee Circus, a troupe of Jewish and Arabic kids founded to foster and promote peace in the Middle East.

We have been given a special discount for this show and tickets will only be $14 for all WSJHS members. We will also be able to meet and greet the cast following the performance, and our wonderful cookbook, Yesterday's Mavens, Today's Foodies: Traditions in Northwest Jewish Kitchens will be available for sale. First installment of Sports Trivia Contest for the WSJHS theme year Instant Replay: Featuring Washington Jews in Sports.
This will be the first of a series of contests run by the historical society. It will feature well-know surprise m.c. and fun for all – sports buffs, as well as family participants, and interested observers as well. Come to a unique event and exercise your sports prowess. Prizes to be awarded.
Winners will advance to subsequent contests and compete in the Playoff Round at the WSJHS Annual Celebration Fundraiser event on October 28th.

Featuring Stephen Sadis' award winning documentary: The Miracle Strip: A Story of Longacres Race Track. It is the story of Longacres miraculous 28-day construction in 1933 to its closing in 1992. The story of founder Joe Gottstein and the track he built. Local newspapers called him "one of the most influential men in Seattle's modern history." "The Miracle Strip" produced world records, champion thoroughbreds and launched careers of some of the greatest jockeys and horsemen the sport of kings has ever seen. 80 minutes in length. This movie will be shown to get us ready to celebrate at the Day of the Races. It is a package deal and we look forward to this wonderful celebration.
