Opening Reception speakers include Shanna Stevenson, Washington Women's Corsortium and others.
Featuring a special collection of dolls which were created in the 1950s by artist Cecil Brooks. These realistic dolls were made to tour schools and promote minorities and their contributions to our country. Professionally curated, the exhibit represents many different ethnicities and nationalities, including G.W. Carver, St. Francis of Assisi, Jackie Robinson, Sacajawea, and Abraham Lincoln to name a few!
Anyone involved in either teaching the original "Dolls for Democracy" Program in the 1960's by the B'nai Brith Women or anyone who attended the presentations in the schools is encouraged to contact Lori at (206) 774-2277 or info@wsjhs.org to be a special Ambassador that evening.
